A world where AI does much of the work raises more than one question. How people get an income is the most urgent, but it is not the only one. If work stops being the centre of life, we also need to ask what gives life meaning, who holds power, how we get from here to there, what we teach our children, and how the gains are shared between countries.
The Malley Project is organised around six pillars. Each one gathers ideas, evidence and open questions, and each is open for your contributions.
1. Income and Ownership
How people get a fair share of the wealth AI creates: basic income, citizens’ wealth funds, taxing AI and more.
2. Meaning and Purpose
For many people, work answers the question “who are you?” What replaces it when there is less work to do?
3. Power and Democracy
If AI concentrates wealth, it can concentrate power too. How do citizens keep a voice?
4. The Transition
Even a good destination can be reached by a painful road. How do we protect people and places along the way?
5. Education and Skills
What should people learn when the skills that matter may change every few years?
6. Global Fairness
AI’s profits may gather in a few countries while its disruption spreads everywhere. How should the gains be shared across borders?
